GameRanger è un servizio di gioco online per la piattaforma Apple Macintosh ed ora anche per il PC. Il servizio non è strettamente basato sul web, al contrario di altri simili. GameRanger è stato creato da Scott Kevill e il primo rilascio è stato nel luglio del 1999 con il supporto di 11 giochi. Nello stesso anno ha ottenuto il titolo di “Best Internet Gaming Achievement” (migliore realizzazione di gioco online) dal Macworld Magazine. Oggi supporta più di 150 titoli.
Nel novembre del 2008 GameRanger ha rilasciato anche un client per Windows. Inizialmente, 526 giochi di Windows erano supportati, e di questi, 27 avevano la possibilità di stabilire un collegamento anche con gli utenti MAC.
Dal 29 ottobre 2009, il servizio supporta più di 600 titoli.

Procedete all’installazione che vi farà anche registrare in automatico(registrazione necessaria)
Entrate nel vostro modem/router e se c’è la modalità UPnP Attivatela
Aprite anche la porta 16000 UDP che è un’alternativa alla modalità UPnP,ma anche se avete attivata quest’ultima per sicurezza apritela lo stesso la porta 16000 UDP.
Disattivate qualsiasi firewall installato sul vostro pc
Ora potete avviare Gameranger
Vi ricordo che si può giocare 1vs1 2vs2 3vs3 4vs4 5vs5 in modalità naturalmente lan bisogna aprire soltanto la propria chat e aspettare che tutti i giocatori si riuniscono per poi poter giocarePer aprire invece una chat invece è molto semplice:
Andare su Host e clicckare su Ok
ed ecco che alla fine vi aprirà una chat dove vi organizzate per poter giocare:
Quando invece siete voi ospiti dovete soltanto entrare nei canali cliccando Join. Scegliete quelli che non hanno il pallino verde, perché sono quelli con non stanno ancora giocando.
